Why Peerbound

Every B2B buyer wants to hear from a company's current customers before making a buying decision. As AI makes every market 10x more competitive, a company's ability to unlock and activate the voices of its happy customers isn't just a nice-to-have; it's the only moat. Peerbound makes this possible at scale.

Today, we do this for leading B2B SaaS companies like AlphaSense, Braze, Canva, Databricks, and Gong. We have the rare opportunity to disrupt not just multiple old-school software vendors, but entire categories of software, services, and labor.

Our core values are Dazzle Customers, Deliver Results, and Demand Excellence. We recruit people with a demonstrated track record of excellence and give them the room to do the best work of their lives. If this sounds like the environment where you do your best work, we invite you to build with us.

We are proud to be an NYC company, working hard in-person at our office near Penn Station. Our founders helped build Braze and Datadog, two of the city's biggest IPOs, and we're backed by the venture investors behind Square, Instacart, Airtable, and Webflow.

Why Now

We've spent two years earning product-market fit the hard way: 30+ enterprise customers who pay us real money and keep doubling down. We have 4+ years of runway and it’s now time to accelerate.

Until now, our founders and engineers have owned design, with support from an experienced contractor. That got us here, but it won't get us where we need to go. We need a designer who can look at what we've built, see both what's right and what's possible, and make the whole thing feel inevitable as we scale from $1M to $100M in ARR.

What you’ll do

You'll own design across the entire Peerbound product, from our core web app to our Slack and email experiences to embeddable widgets that live on our customers' public-facing sites, which see millions of visitors every day. You'll report directly to our CEO and work closely with our engineers and our customers.

Define what Peerbound looks and feels like. Build the design system, component library, and visual language from scratch. Establish the patterns and standards that every future designer and engineer will build on. This isn't about making things pretty — it's about creating a system that scales.

Design AI-native experiences. Much of what Peerbound does is powered by AI, and the hardest design problems we face are about making intelligent systems feel trustworthy, intuitive, and useful. How do you surface an AI-generated customer quote so a sales rep trusts it enough to use it in a live deal? How do you design an interface where the content is dynamic, personalized, and constantly changing? These are the kinds of problems you'll solve every day.

Ship product, not mockups. You'll work embedded with engineering, designing and iterating in tight cycles. We value designers who prototype, who are comfortable in code or adjacent to it, and who care as much about how something ships as how it looks in Figma. You'll go from user insight to shipped features regularly.

Be the voice of the user. Talk to customers directly. Watch how they use the product. Understand where they get stuck, what delights them, and what they don't even know they need yet. Bring those insights back and let them shape the roadmap.

Questions you'll help us answer

  • How do we design a product that serves multiple audiences: (i) marketers who use our web app, (ii) B2B sellers who use Peerbound in email and Slack, and (iii) B2B buyers / website visitors seeing embedded widgets?

  • What does a world-class design system look like for a product where the content is dynamic, AI-curated, and always changing?

  • How do we onboard customers quickly while revealing deeper capabilities over time?

  • How do we make Peerbound feel like the most polished product in our customers' tech stack?

Who you are

8+ years in product design, including significant time at a startup or high-growth company where you owned design end-to-end. You've built design systems from scratch and you've shipped products that real users depend on daily.

You're fluent in Figma and comfortable enough with code and AI tools that you can build interactive prototypes, not just static screens.

You have a strong eye for what AI-native product design looks like. You've thought seriously about how to design for AI-generated content, dynamic interfaces, and trust, or you've been building in this space already.

Beyond the tools: you have exceptional taste and the conviction to defend it, and on the flip side, you are pragmatic enough to judge when to ship something great and iterate rather than wait for perfection. You care about the details that most people don't notice, and you believe that design at its best delivers an unforgettable experience to the user.

Compensation

Salary of $210,000 to $240,000/year plus meaningful equity and benefits (fully covered medical/vision/dental, 401K, flexible PTO). In-person in NYC, 4 days in-office.

Note from the CEO

This company represents my life's work. I've been part of two IPOs, and I want to build the kind of company at Peerbound where working here marks an inflection point in everyone's career, and leads to the kind of bonds that last a lifetime.

This is our first full-time design hire. I am the type of person that really, really values great design but cannot produce it myself. Design, to me, goes much deeper than how a product looks. It’s how a product feels to the user, which is the product of several excellent decisions made by the designer. AI opens up both new opportunities and new challenges for designers, and you will be neck-deep in these challenges, which are still largely unresolved in my view.

The best B2B software in the world still feels clunky, forgettable, and like it was designed by committee. I want Peerbound to be the exception. I want our customers to open our product and feel like someone actually cared.

If you want to define the design language for an entire company, if you get energy from building systems from nothing, if you want to not just build designs but have a heavy hand on our roadmap, and if you believe B2B software deserves the same craft and intention as the best consumer products, I’d love to meet you.
